- Attractive style

A Few Cautions (The Cons)
- Large sized dish serves 6-8 (may be a pro)
- Doesn't come with a lid
Cooking healthy, whole foods involves exploring a variety of cooking methods. Sometimes baking is a lower fat alternative to frying and a lot of classic meals involve baking. Quality bakeware is a kitchen essential.
Safety is also an important consideration. Apparently, many inexpensive glass baking dishes may shatter at higher heats.
Borosilicate glass bakeware is a Feeling Fit Kitchen “Essential”. According to Consumer Reports January 2011 report*, Borosilicate glass is less likely to shatter than other glassware including Pyrex. Borosilicate glass may have a higher impact resistance as well. While this is not new “news”, it was news to me!

What is Borosilicate Glass?
Borosilicate glass is a type of glass that includes at least 5% boric oxide. The boric oxide makes the glass resistant to extreme temperatures, and also improves its resistance to chemical corrosion. This glass is very popular in the manufacture of scientific instruments, and it was once widely used to make glass for kitchens as well. Today, soda-lime glass is the glass of choice for kitchenware, due to the fact that it is generally cheaper to produce. (Source: WiseGeeks – What Is Borosilicate Glass?)
