As someone with a modest sized blog who incorporated monetization strategies from the start, I was curious about what this book would suggest. How To Monetize a Small Blog is a potentially time-saving reference for newer bloggers.
There are two common viewpoints on the subject. One is that a new blogger should incorporate revenue building strategies from the start (if that is the blogger’s goal). The other viewpoint is that it is better to learn to blog, build an audience and create compelling content first. Then introduce revenue building into the blog.
There are of course ideas anywhere on the spectrum between those points of view. I tend towards monetizing early on if the blogger hopes to monetize. However, I do understand the other viewpoint and feel perhaps the past year would have been easier if I just focused on my blog and audience. The author Luke Weil also tends towards monetizing early on.

What I liked (The Pros)
How To Monetize a Small Blog by Luke Weil is short and easy to read. It introduces the basics in a way that would save time for a new blogger (or one new to monetization).
I like that it covers the pros and cons of different monetization methods. I especially like that the author reminds us to stay loyal to our readers when making these decisions.
I really only have a few caveats with How To Monetize a Small Blog by Luke Weil. I would love it if this book contained a little more content and more practical tips. The truth is, much of this information can be found within a few Google searches. Of course, that is true of many books and it is often the authors point of view that makes the content unique.
I do feel this book can save time for a newer blogger as it is a short, handy reference. The Kindle version retails for .99 while the paperback version retails for $4.99.
