Bettie Page Fitness Total Body Strength + Cardio Workout Review

March 9, 2016 By Sam Sly 20 Comments

Bettie Page Fitness Total Body Strength And Cardio is a body-positive workout inspired by pin-up icon Bettie Page.

Creator Tori Rodriguez noticed that many of Bettie Page’s famous poses were “power moves” that require strength, balance and core strength to maintain. She developed the Bettie Page workout inspired by these poses, the fitness required and the essence of Bettie Page.

Betty Page Fitness (long)I received a complimentary copy of Bettie Page Fitness Total Body Strength And Cardio workout to review. All experiences and opinions described are my own after following the workout.

What I Like About This Workout:

I liked the positive approach and the pacing. There is little downtime and chit chat which is always a plus for me. The motivational talk is positive, and the instruction is clear.

The lead instructor and background exercisers wear full pin-up inspired makeup and hair styles. Normally, that would be a minus but in this case, it works in reinforcing that Betty Page is the inspiration for this workout.

The moves are primarily classic strength exercises such as reverse lunges and bent over rows. I felt the work in the muscle in my posterior chains such as my glutes and hamstrings.  The circuits are arranged into three sets and about 15 reps though it varies by the exercise.

I felt it is a classic workout that works the whole body and includes a good mix of strength and aerobic exercises.

This Workout DVD Might Not Be For You If:

I usually prefer dedicated strength workouts on strength days and dedicated cardio on my aerobic days. However, sometimes I don’t have time to exercise 6 days a week and during those times circuit workouts that mix strength and aerobic benefits are wonderful. If you do not prefer circuits that mix aerobic and strength exercises, then Bettie Page Fitness may not be your first choice.

The leader and background demonstrators wear modest workout attire — capris and tank tops. However, they exercise in front of posters of Bettie Page. In those posters, Ms. Page wears a bikini or lingerie. I mention this as I know some readers are concerned about scantily clad women in workout DVDs. In this case, the woman is on a black and white poster in the background. Given this workout is inspired by pin-up legend Bettie Page this seems appropriate.

What a cool idea! I love that she even thought of that concept basing it off of a pin up model from back in the “old” days 🙂 It looks like a great workout too!

It’s very cool that this DVD is inspired by pin-up icons. It sounds like a good all around workout for people who exercise at home.

The entire concept around this workout is really cute and fun. I’ve found that I don’t so well with video instruction. I need a live body telling me what I do.

I love the convenience of doing workouts at home. It doesn’t matter what the weather is like outside and I don’t have to deal with traffic or parking. This looks like a great workout.

This looks like a great and different workout video. I also had not heard of it or seen it before, but I like that it’s something new to try out.

I was sold at 45 minutes. I guess this workout can really give you a quick toning and cardio and it looks fun too.

Love the retro hair and makeup. I wasn’t familiar with Betty Paige so this was good info to learn. It may be a little more intense than I’d prefer but it sounds like a fun workout.

I like that there is little downtime and chitchat. Constant talking about nothing really gets on my last nerve. 🙂 Especially if it’s a workout that I like and do over and over. I had not heard of this particular workout and I appreciate the review.
