Feeling Fit, Bit by Bit received a free bottle of Emile Noël’s Artisan Oils for review purposes. Also, Emile Noël’s is sponsoring a giveaway in honor of Non-GMO Month (October 2014). I sampled: Emile Noël’s Organic Sunflower Cooking Spray. Giveaway drawing details will follow the review.
About Emile Noël
Emile Noël was founded in 1920 in France. Emile Noël mills a wide selection of organic virgin olive nut and seed oils. Their selection includes: mild olive, robust olive, sesame, toasted sesame, sunflower, pumpkin seed, hazelnut, walnut, macadamia nut, sweet almond and sunflower oil spray. With so many options, there is an oil for every taste and for every dish! According to their company literature:
“The Emile Noël oil mill offers only organic products – farmed without chemical fertilizers, synthetic pesticides or GMOs. In 1972, we were the first oil millers in France to press organically-farmed seeds. Long before fair trade reached the mainstream, the company directly developed equitable commercial relationships with sesame growers in Africa in the early 1980s. Our fair trade programs for sesame, shea, hazelnuts and argan have been awarded Organic Fair Trade by Ecocert.”

My Impressions of Emile Noël’s Organic Sunflower Cooking Oil Spray
This sunflower oil has a very mild, pleasant flavor. When I taste it neat, it tastes mildly of sunflower seeds. Since I like sunflower seeds, that is a plus in my book! When used for cooking, it has a neutral flavor that does not overpower the meal.
Sunflower oil is a highly versatile cooking oil. I like that it is organic and cold pressed. I think it is the nicest tasting sunflower seed oil I have tried. The spray bottle makes it an alternative to other canned cooking sprays. Unfortunately, the bottle doesn’t produce a fine mist like I had hoped, but it does make it easier to apply a small amount to the pan.
Recommended Uses, according toEmile Noël:
- Can be served raw with vegetables, salads, and soft cheese
- Also great for baking, cooking or frying
I look forward to trying other Emile Noël Artisan Oils in the future. I am especially interested in their olive oil!
