R & R Tips: DIY Luxurious Rose Lavender Bath Salts

February 27, 2015 By Sam Sly 2 Comments

Rose Lavender Bath Salt

Sometimes after an exhausting day (or an exhausting workout) there is just nothing like a relaxing bath! A good bath can be an inexpensive alternative reward. This rose lavender moisturizing salt bath smells and feels luxurious! When I step out of the tub, my skin is silky smooth.

Disclosure: I previously received a free sample of one or more items in this DIY bath recipe including the featured  Adovia 100% Dead Sea Bath Salts – Mineral Rich Bath Soak.

This bath features the following cocktail of ingredients:

  • 1/2 – 2/3 cup of Adovia 100% Dead Sea Bath Salts – Mineral Rich Bath Soak (the amount depends on the size of your tub, I just have a small apartment tub, if you are fortunate enough to have a large tub you may want more salts)
  • 2 drops Rose essential oil (adjust to preference)
  • 1-2 drops Lavender essential oil
  • Optional, for moisture: 1/2 Shea It Is So! Bath Melt (recipe previously posted, visit Shea It Is So! to see).

Note, if you don’t have any Shea It Is So! melts on hand, you can substitute for a few drops of jojoba oil, argan oil or a scoop of shea or coconut oil.  The salt soak and moisturizing base oil are all unscented so I can have a scent free bath or customize with essential oils. That way I can enjoy a different bath for different moods. Today I wanted a relaxing, but sensually floral scent. I go lighter with essential oils to avoid an overpowering scent.

Instructions to Create the Rose Lavender Bath Salts:

Place desired salt in a cup, add drops of essential oil using a dropper if possible. Add the oil little by little and mix. This really is to your nose’s taste. If in doubt, use just a little. You can always add more if you find your bath is not scented enough. The heat from the water tends to intensify the scent.

Tip: Sometimes it can be difficult to smell what you are doing once your nose adjusts to the scent. Since this bath scent will linger on your skin after your bath is complete, you may not want to over-do it! I find that sniffing coffee beans or ground coffee clears my “nose palette”.

About Adovia 100% Dead Sea Bath Salts:

I used Adovia 100% Dead Sea Bath Salts. I like these salts because they are unscented so I can use them plain or scent them myself. I find these fine grain salts dissolve well into my bath and I feel so relaxed after using them. The Adovia salts come in a resealable ziplock style bag for easy access.

Adovia boasts their Dead Sea Salts have a higher mineral concentration than Epsom Salt! It contains over 26 essential minerals, according to Adovia. Some find that bath salts, like these, provides relief from Psoriasis, Eczema, and Arthritis symptoms. According to Adovia, these salts contain absolutely no additives, colors, or scents.
