Make Strawberry Ginger Infused Water And More With Flavfusion

December 11, 2014 By Sam Sly 3 Comments

I often mention the importance of staying hydrated in my fitness and beauty posts. I must admit, this is a challenge for me as I don’t always think to reach for water until I am very thirsty.  During the summer, I made herbal ice teas and infused water so I had tasty, non-calorie (or very low calorie) on hand and this would help me drink before I felt too thirsty. This works well at home, but what about out and about or at the office? This is where an infuser water bottle comes in handy!

I had been window shopping infuser water bottles since seeing a woman at the gym using one.  Then Flavfusion offered me the opportunity to review their BPA-free Infuser Water Bottle. Talk about perfect timing! I received a review sample water infuser and have been using it for a couple weeks.

Strawberry Ginger Water in my Flavfusion Infuser Water Bottle #FlavFusion

In this post,  I will share some tips how to use an infuser water bottle  and an easy recipe for strawberry ginger infused water. FlavFusion has also offered Feeling Fit readers a $2 off promotional code (see purchasing information towards the end of this post for details.)

About the Flavfusion Infuser Water Bottle:

Flavfusion Infuser Water Bottle can be used to make your own flavored waters. The bottle holds 26 ounces, is made in the USA and free of BPA and lead. To use, you simply cut fruits, vegetables, or herbs and place them in the infuser (see the second and third pictures in the collage below). You screw the lid on the infuser (the fourth picture shows it assembles) and fill your water bottle and screw the infusing lid on the bottle.

For an amazing infusion, leave in the refrigerator overnight. I find this makes a morning workout feel almost like a spa session. I get up for my morning yoga session or workout. Let’s face it, that can be a challenge. Then I remember that I have a fresh infused drink such as cucumber and mint to enjoy during my workout. Or I may prefer strawberry and ginger that morning (instructions are later in the post). Or perhaps lime and mint for a Mojito inspired infusion. Lovely! It is the simple pleasures that get me sometimes. Staying hydrated is certainly more exciting with all of these options!

Types of things You Can Infuse:

You do not need a infusion water bottle to enjoy these infusions. These can be done in a pitcher or glass jar. The Flavfusion Infuser Water Bottle just makes it easier to prepare infusions on the go and to enjoy them anywhere. I typically can refill my bottle 2-3 times and still enjoy nice infused water.

You can infuse just about anything that is edible, the following work well:

  • Fruits
  • Herbs
  • Vegetables
  • Spices
  • Edible Flowers

Some Infused Water Flavor Combination Ideas:

  • Mint and cucumber
  • Strawberry and ginger
  • Lemon and basil
  • Orange and lemon
  • Lime and mint
  • Just about anything you can imagine!

Strawberry Ginger Infused Water:

Step by step demonstration of my Strawberry Ginger Infused Water #FlavFusion

Ingredients:

  • 1 strawberry
  • 1 small piece of fresh ginger (I used a piece similar in size to a small garlic clove)
  • freshwater

Tools I Used:

  • Flavfusion’s Infuser Water Bottle
  • A cutting board
  • A sharp knife
  • A Garlic Presser (I used the Pro-presser I previously reviewed)

Instructions:

1. Slice one strawberry into very small pieces that fit in infuser. Note you don’t want to overfill the infuser because the water you drink will need to pass through it.
2. Mince ginger and place in infuser, I used a garlic press as I find that chunks of ginger do not infuse quickly enough for my preference. Using a press minces it finely and is perfect for a quicker infusion.
3. Optional – place a couple ice cubes in the bottom of the water bottle and will 3/4 with fresh water.
4. Screw the infuser lid onto the bottle and enjoy! The longer you wait the stronger the infusion, but there will be a mild infusion immediately.

Note: I put ice cubes in to cook the water, if you are infusing overnight in the refrigerator this is not necessary. Another tip if infusing herbs, I use a cocktail muddler or my pestle and mortar to slightly muddle any herbs or spices for a quicker infused water cocktail (think mojito only with just the healthy stuff).

Where to Purchase Flavfusion’s Infuser Water Bottle:

Flavfusion’s Infuser Water Bottle is available on Amazon. FlavFusion has offered Feeling Fit readers a $2 discount using the code 9WMNBVTM

Below, are my Amazon affiliate links , if you click on one of these and make a purchase then Feeling Fit received a small commission. This doesn’t effect your price it is just, but it does support this blog. I included links to some other products that I find can help with creating infused waters.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
