“Are these boots that made for walking? Yes, please!” When the UK shoe brand Hotter offered me a review sample of their “Mystery” boots, I just couldn’t resist. I walk frequently and need comfortable footwear.
Once the boots arrived, I noticed they are well-made and comfortable. Hotter manufactures their boots in the UK. The brown suede was buttery soft right out of the box. Overall, I was an instant fan. The Hotter Mystery boots score well on comfort, quality, and function.
My Video Review of Mystery Boots by Hotter Shoes
I shared my initial impressions in this video review of my chocolate brown Mystery boots. Spoiler alert — the quality, comfort, and style all impress me.
The balance of style and function is a challenge. My inner fashionista has a couple minor complaints about “Mystery’s design. My main issue is these slouchy boots stop at the widest point of my calf. I would prefer they were either an inch taller or shorter, your experience may vary depending on the length of your legs. If you happen to be taller or shorter than 5′ 1”, these boots may look fantastic on you.

Images and Thoughts of my Mystery Boots by Hotter Shoes
I wore my new Mystery boots on a busy day when I ran a few errands then met friends for a retro film night (Indiana Jones!) and sushi. According to my Fitbit, I walked over 10,000 steps. I am glad to say these boots already felt like they were broken in. It is nice to have a pair of boots that are in fact made for walking!
The design is casual and basic. The flat heel and slouchy shape look great with casual skirts, skinny pants, and leggings. I probably would not wear them with wider legged or boot-legged trousers since the boots are loose at the ankles. The chocolate brown boots have a dual-texture including the leather shoe and the soft suede boot shaft.
Mystery boots by Hotter Shoes are perfect for fall or winter. They feature a slim fleece lining that adds to a cozy, comfortable feeling. The soles are soft and slightly cushioned.

I’ve personally never heard of Hotter Shoes, but I think I’m going to have to check them out. I really like the mystery boots, however I would agree with you, that they should be a little taller or shorter. The height they’re at now looks fine, but I would imagine that it would be a little different feeling. Typically, boots that are that height are for the winter/snow. Regardless, though, they look nice and for some reason look really soft! Hope you get a lot of use out of them!I like the fact that you mention that the boots felt like they were broken in. That’s really important and something that would push me to go towards a brand/specific shoe. It kills my feet and legs to break in a pair of shoes. Great review! Will definitely check out Hotter Shoes. 😀
