A beautiful French press makes brewing coffee and tea a pleasure. Of course, it helps to have delicious coffee and Brewing Good Coffee Co. can help! It is even better if the delicious coffee is fair trade and the company supports animal rescue and advocacy charities!
I had the opportunity to try both of these products for Feeling Fit’s Coffee, Tea, For Me series.
Featured Products:
Osaka Cafetiere 6 Cup, French Press
Osaka Cafetiere 6 Cup French Press coffee maker is a beautifully designed double walled glass coffee pot.
My Experience:
The Osaka Cafetiere 6 Cup, French Press has a light, airy appearance. I find the curving shape and wood lid pleasing.
The French Press is as functional as it is attractive. Appearance aside, the double walled glass protects my hands from getting burned and keeps hot beverages hot longer. The press is easy to use to brew either coffee or tea infusions. And it was easy to clean after use.
Borosilicate glass is known to withstand higher heats, according to Consumer Reports (from their January 2011 report on glass bakeware). However, I do have a slight concern about the durability of the glass handle. It is thin and delicate looking. This adds to the aesthetic appeal, I just hope it is tougher than it looks!
About This Product:
The following description was submitted by Osaka Coffee:
“Zenrin-Ji is our double-walled Cafetiere with a beautiful wood lid that will impress.
Carafe
The Carafe is made of hand-blown Borosilicate glass that will resist thermal shock, so it wont break when it goes from cold to hot or vice-versa. Another great benefit of Borosilicate is that it will not absorb any residue, or odors giving you a fresh tasting coffee every time you use it. It is also double-walled so it will keep your coffee or tea hot for longer.
Filter
The stainless steel filter will ensure no grounds get mixed into your coffee, but will let the essential oils though leaving a fresher better tasting coffee.
Capacity
The carafe holds up to 6 (4.5 oz)cups of coffee. The carafe is also dishwasher safe.”
Espresso Blend Whole Bean Coffee From Brewing Good
This organic, Espresso Blend coffee is brewed in small batches, Whole Bean, 100% Arabica, Fair Trade from Brewing Good Coffee, Co.
My Experience:
Brewing Good Espresso blend coffee is a smooth, delicious coffee. It tastes a little mild to my tongue and isn’t overly astringent. I typically prefer a darker, more full-bodied coffee, but I still enjoy this coffee.
I brewed it in my French Press and also in my Moka pot. It works either way, though I prefer this particular coffee in the Moka pot. That makes sense as it is an espresso blend so it thrived in the pressure steam brewing method. I usually prefer to drink my Moka pot “espresso” drinks in a latte, but this is smooth enough to drink plain.
My only “complaint” is that since this coffee is roasted in small batches, it took a few days to find it in stock to place the order. The upside to this is fresh roasted beans! I do feel Good Brewing is worth the wait.
About This Product:
The following description was submitted by Good Brewing Coffee Company:
“Our carefully chosen, high-quality coffees are roasted-to-order in small batches to bring out the best in each bean and shipped within 24 hours of roasting so it arrives fresh at your door – quality plus convenience! (There is nothing like the intense aroma of fresh-roasted coffee, except for the taste!) Additionally, the bag is heat sealed and features a biodegradable, PLA degassing valve, which allows natural gas out, but not in, preserving the best taste and that amazing smell. We ship your beans whole so you can grind as you go for the freshest taste and to the specifications of your brewing method. This is great coffee for a good cause – Our tagline is “Drink coffee. Save animals.” because we donate 10% of the proceeds from every bag to responsible rescue and advocacy nonprofits that are making the world a better place for animals.”
