I love smoothies, but sometimes they are not satisfying enough to be a meal yet too high in calories to enjoy as a guilt-free snack. I find that I can make a satisfying smoothie that can serve as a quick breakfast if I include protein rich additives like nut butters or Greek yogurt.
Disclosure: Bell Plantation sent samples of PB2 for review purposes and is sponsoring a giveaway. One lucky Feeling Fit reader will receive a PB2 combination pack including PB2 Original and PB2 With Premium Chocolate. To enter the giveaway, see the giveaway widget after the recipe. This giveaway runs 1/01/15 – 1/08/15.
This is one of two recipes involving PB2. I also posted a recipe for PB2 Peanut Butter Hot Cocoa.

About PB2:
“PB2 is made with the highest quality peanuts that are slow roasted and then cold pressed to remove the fat and oil. All that’s left is a delicious natural roasted peanut flavor. PB2 with chocolate is simply PB2 blended with the finest cocoa beans to give you rich chocolate flavor. Both are all natural, made with no preservatives and are gluten free.”
In case you are unfamiliar with PB2, you can use it to make peanut butter. Simply mix 2 tablespoons of PB2 into 1 tablespoon of water. I actually use a little more water than suggested.
The main benefit to PB2 is that it is lower in fat and calories than regular peanut butter so is a relatively high protein, guilt free indulgence for dieters. While I have no issue enjoying small quantities of raw, unsweetened peanut butter, I do find that PB2 works well in smoothies and in a variety of recipes.
