I admit it! I love chocolate and I love peanut butter. I also enjoy a good hot cocoa. PB2 recently sent me samples of their PB2 original peanut Butter powder and their PB2 with Premium Chocolate to review.
I decided to experiment an came up with a few recipes. The first is for PB2 Peanut Butter Hot Cocoa. I never would have thought to make peanut butter hot cocoa, but since PB2 is powdered I decided to try. It turns out the PB2 powder can blend rather nicely into hot milk. In this version, I used unsweetened almond milk. I made it twice–once with no added cocoa powder and a second time with a teaspoon of cocoa powder added. Both methods work well depending on your taste preference. I didn’t add any sugar as the sugar in the PB2 and the natural sweetness of the Almond milk were perfect.
(This is one of two recipes featuring PB2, I also posted a PB2 Peanut Butter and Cherry Smoothie Recipe.

Directions:
- heat milk in microwave or on stove top.

About PB2
“B2 is made with the highest quality peanuts that are slow roasted and then cold pressed to remove the fat and oil. All that’s left is a delicious natural roasted peanut flavor. PB2 with chocolate is simply PB2 blended with the finest cocoa beans to give you rich chocolate flavor. Both are all natural, made with no preservatives and are gluten free.”
In case you are unfamiliar with PB2, you can use it to make peanut butter. Simply mix 2 tablespoons of PB2 into 1 tablespoon of water. I actually use a little more water than suggested.
The main benefit to PB2 is that it is lower in fat and calories than regular peanut butter so is a relatively high protein, guilt free indulgence for dieters. While I have no issue enjoying small quantities of raw, unsweetened peanut butter, I do find that PB2 works well in smoothies and in a variety of recipes.
