I grew up listening to Madonna and have always been a fan. I was so excited when One2One Network offered me the opportunity to review Madonna’s new album Rebel Heart.
I participated in the Madonna Rebel Heart album review program as a member of One2One Network. I was provided an album to review but all opinions are my own.
While I love music, I find it a challenge to critique art made by other people. With both art and entertainment, I either like or not, it speaks to me or not… What speaks to me, might not speak to others.
Lately with Madonna, it has been hit or miss. I admire her ability to create new trends and take risks. I just haven’t enjoyed some of the last couple albums, that is the trouble with risks (but they are still worth taking!). I actually stopped purchasing Madonna albums after a couple disappointments. Enter Rebel Heart!
To me, this album is also a little hit or miss. Rebel Heart features uplifting, and provocative songs. Many of these songs are already in heavy rotation in my workout playlists and listening lists. This is my favorite Madonna album in recent years. And there are a few that just do not speak to me and even annoy me a little.

Rebel Heart contains numerous mild profanity and occasional drug and religion references. That isn’t surprising as it is Madonna and one of the things I love about her is her provocative, no-apologies persona. Yet for some reason, some of these songs are the songs that annoy me on Rebel Heart. For example the track “Bitch I’m Madonna” is on my skip list.
The great thing about music (and art in general) is that others may love what I don’t. There are plenty of songs making their way into my heart and into heavy rotation. My personal highlights include Inside Out, Living For Love, and the title Rebel Heart.
All in all, I love the diversity of sounds and themes on Rebel Heart by Madonna. It is well worth a listen for any old or new Madonna fan!

About Rebel Heart by Madonna:
The following quote from Lady M herself offers a perfect summary of Rebel Heart. I love the mix of public and intimate, brash and vulnerable, and romantic and rebellious on Rebel Heart.
“Rebel Heart explores two very distinct sides of my personality, the rebellious renegade side of me and the romantic side of me” commented Madonna recently in Billboard.
The new album features collaborations with Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, Nas, Chance the Rapper and Mike Tyson and was recorded in NY, LA and London. Producers include Madonna, Diplo, Kanye West, Billboard, Avicii, DJ Dahi and Blood Diamonds, Ryan Tedder, Toby Gad, and Ariel Rechtshald.
