An active lifestyle means my shoes and bags get a lot of wear and tare. I have several pair of shoes and boots with smudges and scuff marks. This Fall, I decided to give them a little TLC. I used Leather Nova Leather Cleaner and Leather Conditioner to restore them to an almost new look.
|Three Leather Nova Products: Leather Cleaner; Leather Conditioner; and Leather Cleaner and Conditioner #leathernova|
I received free samples of three Leather Nova products to review. I also include affiliate links (Amazon) in the purchasing information section of this review. I used these products to clean and condition several pair of leather shoes and boots, two purses and a messenger bag. This review is based on my experience using Leather Nova products. The opinions are 100% my own.

This leather cleaner can be used on leather or vinyl furniture, belts, shoes, boots, handbags, really just about anything made of leather or vinyl. It can not be used on suede (according to the directions). Bummer because I have a pair of suede boots that need cleaning! I liked this leather cleaning product. It seemed a little oily when I sprayed it on my shoes, but the leather just drank it up. I used the included microfiber towel to rub the cleaner into the leather. There really wasn’t much to wipe off. I cleaned several items with this cleaner then let these items dry for 24 hours before I applied the leather conditioner.
Some product features:
- 18 ounces in an easy to use spray bottle
- Comes with a microfiber towel for application
- Made in USA
- Non-Toxic and PH-Balanced for leather (according to Leather Nova)
My verdict: I liked this leather cleaner. My boots and shoes looked newer (not new) immediately after use. It removed several scuff marks easily. I also liked that it came in a large spray bottle. The size looks suitable for cleaning leather or vinyl sofas. My sofa is microfiber so I didn’t get a chance to test, but I think I can clean all my shoes, purses and belts with this one bottle. I liked that it came with the microfiber towel so I had everything I needed. The towel is soft and mine was a bright yellow.
Leather Conditioner and Restorer
The Leather Conditioner and Restorer is the second phase in the process. After I allowed my newly cleaned leather to dry for 24 hours, I applied this product using the enclosed foam applicator. The instructions said to leave it to dry for one hour then to buff off any remaining oil.
Some Product Features:
- Comes with free foam applicator
- USA Made
- Water, Snow & Rain Repellent formula. (According to Leather Nova)
- Nourishes, restores and protects all leather and vinyl surfaces.
- Non-Toxic and PH balanced for leather (according to Leather Nova)
My Verdict: This was a little messier than the cleaning phase, but the product absorbed well. I really didn’t have any excess to buff, but I did buff just in case. Everything I treated looked newer. I think if also polished the boots and shoes they would look new as neither of these products were able to restore the color to my older black and red shoes. The brown items I cleaned and restored did look new when I finished. Every item was at least a year old some several years old.
Leather Cleaner and Conditioner
This seems to be an all in one product. I am not sure whether there are any particular circumstances where the two step process is better than the one step. I cleaned the brown leather messenger bag with the Leather Cleaner and Conditioner, the other items were cleaned with the two step process.
According to Leather Nova, this product is three-in-one:
- Cleaning: Our product deeply cleans all leather and vinyl surfaces. Reduces stains and marks too.
- Restoration: Provides instant restoration to leather by enriching the leather fibres and making it soft and supple.
- Protection: Prevents premature aging of leather, protects from drying and cracking.
The product features are pretty much the same as above only this comes with a free white applicator pad. I applied it to the messenger bag and rubbed the solution in with the pad and let it dry for an hour. I did buff the bag with the microfiber towel to wipe off any excess product but for the most part it absorbed well into the leather.
My Verdict: This was easier than the two step process and the bad does look almost new (it had several scuff marks and marks from the rain).
I think all three are good products to use to clean and condition leather. I haven’t tried them on vinyl or plastic yet. I also think they are good value for money.
