Feeling Fit has the privilege to review Jan Berry’s book 101 Easy Homemade Products for Your Skin, Health & Home: A Nerdy Farm Wife’s All-Natural DIY Projects Using Commonly Found Herbs, Flowers & Other Plants. This book is an essential reference for anyone who enjoys making their natural own home, beauty or personal care items.
I received a review copy of 101 Easy Homemade Products for Your Skin, Health & Home: A Nerdy Farm Wife’s All-Natural DIY Projects Using Commonly Found Herbs, Flowers & Other Plants.
I enjoy making my own skin care products, cleaning products and hair treatments. I have previously shared recipes for such products in my Healthy Home, DIY Home Spa Day, and Natural Beauty DIY sections on Feeling Fit. While I have taken a couple of local classes, I didn’t really have the right reference book. 101 Easy Homemade Products for Your Skin, Health & Home is just the reference book that I need!

As the name suggests, Jan Berry’s book contains 101 recipes. However, the value of the book goes deeper than that. It contains introductory information on the oils, herbs and other ingredients featured. The introduction also summarizes useful techniques used in the recipes. Best of all the book is beautifully designed, well organized, and contains extensive navigation tools (like a detailed table of contents, index some cross referencing of recipes to ingredients and more!).
I recommend 101 Easy Homemade Products for Your Skin, Health & Home by Jan Berry for anyone interested in making their own natural DIY home, beauty or personal care products. This book is especially useful to beginners, but seasoned crafters may find new recipes, techniques or ideas that are worth the purchase price.

Thank you for sharing such a lovely homemade beauty book! I always believe in using natural ingredients on my skin.
I am always on the look out for new beauty recipes. I am glad that you mentioned the book gives an explanation for why which oil or herb is used. I need to know why I am using an ingredient. Now I need to decide if I should look into the Kindle or paperback version…
