Burnie’s Beans Whole Bean Espresso Organic Coffee Review
My morning coffee is a bit of a ritual. I try to moderate my coffee consumption to one maybe two cups a day. I usually manage with one cup in the morning and a cup of tea in the afternoon. As a coffee lover, I need to make that morning coffee count!
I grind my coffee beans and vary the way I prepare my coffee. Part of the joy of coffee is that initial whiff of the beans. Right from the start, I knew Burnie’s Beans coffee would be wonderful because of the lovely scent.
The Beans are slightly oily. I think that is a plus as I generally prefer oily coffee beans. I realize everyone has their own preferences. I have brewed Burnie’s Beans in a few different ways — Moka pot, French Press and cold brew. It tasted wonderful with all three methods.
Burnie’s Beans describes the flavor of this organic coffee as:
Balanced. Toffee sweetness. Clean citrus acidity. Toasted nuts. Subtle floral character.
I am not sure whether I would use those exact words, but it is smooth and drinkable. I didn’t notice a sweet toffee taste, but I found it works well with sweeter flavors such as chocolate, vanilla or eggnog. My indulgence this season has been an eggnog latte some mornings (usually on a weekend). This coffee works wonderfully in an eggnog latte! And it also tastes great black.
Finally, I wanted to mention that Burnie’s Beans is a great value for a fair-trade, organic coffee. Of course, it is more expensive than the less expensive grocery store options. The coffee comes in a large airtight bag, it weighted over two pounds. Given the quantity and the quality, I feel it is a great coffee.

My morning coffee routine involves one large mug of black coffee before work (before anything, really) and one mug to-go so I can have a little more at work, though I don’t usually drink it all. I do not, however like drip coffee from any coffee shop. There’s something that just isn’t as good as when I make it at home in a standard drip pot.
Although, I do love a good 8oz. latte or 120z double. So good, especially if the milk is steamed well.
I work at a coffee shop part-time, so my tastes have changed some, though I have always enjoyed my black coffee.
