The Purple Tractor “On The Move” blend is a rich flavored whole bean coffee. The flavor seems to have warm, slightly nutty “notes”. These hints of flavor are not obvious like a flavored coffee, they are subtle. I enjoyed the smooth flavor and lovely aroma of this medium roast coffee.
My Experience Drinking Purple Tractor On The Move Coffee:
I knew the second that I opened the bag that I would love Purple Tractor Coffee! The aroma revealed a warm, rich tasting coffee.
I enjoyed Purple Tractor as did everyone I shared it with. Flavor preference is so subjective. I typically like stronger flavored coffees. I usually do not like bitter flavors, but for some reason I don’t mind certain bitter flavors such as dark chocolate, olives or a nice cup of coffee. To me, Purple Tractor seemed well-balanced and not quite as bitter as some stronger coffees. It is labelled as a medium roast so this isn’t entirely surprising. I did find the beans look a little darker than some medium roast coffees and even darker than a few “dark roasts” I have tried!
Yes, you shouldn’t judge “a book by the cover”, but I like the labeling on Purple Tractor. They identify the source of the beans, provide nutrition information (the information is pretty typical for coffee, but this is among the first I have seen printed on the packaging), and it lists the roast date. Sometimes I look for this information about other coffee and don’t easily find it. Kudos to Purple Tractor!
I prepared this coffee in my French Press and also in my Moka pot and it worked well with either method. I didn’t try cold brewing The Purple Tractor. I wish I had as the smooth flavor seems like it would cold brew beautifully.
I found these beans fairly oily. I typically like moderately oily beans, though I know some prefer drier beans.
I highly recommend The Purple Tractor “On The Move” blend whole bean coffee. At this point, it is probably my new favorite medium-roast coffee.

This anecdote from Purple Tractor describes their company ethos to a “T”:
“The Purple Tractor is a symbol of
our hearts. It is to be a reminder of what is possible if we are creative and passionate, and then act on it.One day, when we asked our son
what he wanted he said “a tractor”.When we asked, “what color?”
He said “Purple!”
“Really, not green?” We replied.
“Nope I want a purple tractor,” he said.
At the age of three we know exactly what we want and we aren’t afraid to say it. We also know just about anything is possible. As we age most of us loose that creativity and passion. Every time you see The Purple Tractor we want you to connect with your heart and realize that whatever it is that you desire you can achieve. The world is a beautiful place full of abundance, get creative and take action.
Follow your heart to find your purple tractor, hop on, and go for a ride!”
