Editors Note: From time to time we feature activity tracking devices and apps to help you make the most of your tracking device. We agreed to share some information about Kiqplan fitness apps as they play nice with several popular fitness tracking devices and offer detailed plans to help people reach their fitness goals. Introducing Kiqplan

Fitness and Weight Loss App – Kiqplan from kiqplan on Vimeo.

If you’ve been having trouble getting into shape and losing weight, the chances are you’ve tried everything from all-vegetable detoxes to the Atkins Diet.

It is only natural to want fast results when it comes to health and fitness, as the journey can be a tough one. But if you’ve been striving for shortcuts, you need to change your way of thinking.

According to Gary Foster of the Weight and Eating Disorder Program at the University of Pennsylvania, nearly 65 percent of people on a diet return to their pre-diet weight within three years. And many of those people actually end up heavier than before.

According to Stanford University’s Wellsphere website, only five percent of people who lose weight rapidly keep it off. Extremely low-calorie diets, diets that cut out certain food groups and food-substitution diets are now widely considered to be ineffective in the long-term.

The only sensible way to get into shape is by taking regular exercise and eating a healthy, well-balanced diet. If you can burn slightly more calories than you expend, you’ll lose weight over time. And if you can find the right balance between calories consumed and calories expended, you’ll be able to maintain a healthy weight for the long-term.

Of course, you might think that this is a case of ‘easier said than done’. However, a 12-week fitness programme from Kiqplan could make the process a lot more manageable.

What is Kiqplan?

Kiqplan is a fitness app with a difference. A lot of apps simply monitor activity and calorie consumption, and then provide you with raw data. What you do with the data can sometimes be a mystery. But Kiqplan goes a step further by developing a fitness programme that is right for you.

Think of Kiqplan as your very own personal trainer and nutritionist that goes where you go. The app is compatible with most iOS and Android devices, and it links to most major activity trackers on the market today. Simply enter some personal information about yourself, and set some goals to strive for.

Expert help and guidance

Kiqplan apps are developed by experts in the fields of exercise, nutrition and lifestyle. Once you have linked your app with your activity tracker, your 12-week programme will begin – and you’ll start getting expert advice to get you on the road to a healthier lifestyle.

Workout videos – You’ll be sent detailed workout videos on a regular basis. This means you can workout at work, at home or at the park. The workout videos you’ll be sent will be relevant to your current fitness level and your ultimate goal. Simply follow the workout video as soon as you can.

Healthy recipes – To complement your workout regime, Kiqplan provides you with healthy and tasty recipes every day. These recipes have been compiled by leading nutritionists, and they ensure you get all the nutrients you need without overshooting your daily calorie targets.

Lifestyle tips – Sometimes, the small changes to your daily routines can make a huge difference to your overall health. Lifestyle gurus will provide you with healthy living tips on a daily basis. All you need to do is remember to open your app.

Motivation and inspiration

One reason a lot of people fail in their attempts at long-term weight loss is because of a lack of motivation. Let’s face it; exercising can get rather monotonous at times. If you are struggling to find the motivation to exercise, you might end up thinking ‘what’s the point?’

Kiqplan motivates and inspires in a number of ways. The app allows you to track your progress, and you can also refer back to historical data if you want to relive your big achievements. When you work hard and meet your targets, your efforts will be rewarded with performance badges. But don’t worry if you fall short, as Kiqplan will be there giving you feedback and guidance to get you back on the road to health and fitness.

Stop ‘dieting’, and stop expecting to achieve fast results that will last. The only way you’re going to maintain a healthy weight and a decent level of fitness is by taking the sensible approach to exercise and diet.
