I am new to the world of “smart phones” and apps. One of the fist things I did was look into fitness and workout apps. Fitfu was my workout for today.
Fitfu uses the iPhone’s built in accelerometer to track your repetitions for thirteen different exercises. Thirteen, if you count the three variations of push-ups (off the wall, on knees and on toes). It includes the three variations of push-ups, squats, lunges, crunches, bicycle crunches, pull ups, dips, glute bridges, jack knives, and planks with leg lifts/kick backs. There is an option to have Fitfu randomly shuffle the exercises to create a five minute circuit. I used that option today.
During three circuits, all the exercises were included. It provided a nice “old school” workout.
Unfortunately, I fund it a challenge to place my phone securely in a position to capture the motion for each specific workout. Because of my fumbling, only two of my circuits counted. The count was accurate for some exercises but over or under for some others. I am sure I will be able to improve on the accuracy with more experimentation. I will post a more detailed review after I better learn this game.
I would welcome new Fitfu rivals, uh, friends… I am “slysam” on Fitfu.
