Today I tried Extend Barre Lean & Chiseled with Andrea Rogers for the first time. Well, I did all sections except the core section.
Equipment used: chair or barre, yoga mat (optional), light weights (1-3 pound is recommended)
This 55 minute workout includes dance, barre and pilates inspired exercises. I would describe this as body weight (and light weight) “toning”, balance, light cardio and stretching. While I wouldn’t exactly describe it as a cardio workout, my heart rate was in my light to moderate cardio range through most of the standing segments. I would compare it to a brisk walk with light jogging segments in aerobic intensity.
I enjoyed this workout very much and look forward to trying it again. I am a fan of faster paced barre workouts in general and enjoyed that this one used some larger range of motion exercises along with some small jumps. I may write a more detailed review/breakdown after I have used it a few more times, but for now I just wanted to note my first impressions.
Edited to add: I had one additional workout that day– about an hour of dance practice with some friends.
