I have a soft-spot for artists and small-business people. I also love accessories and jewelry. The right piece can elevate any outfit and everyday activity into a special occasion. While I enjoy the work of many big brand designers, there is just something so personal and special about a hand-crafted accessory. I just love the unique beauty of designs by independent artists like Megan’s Beaded Designs.
That is why I was excited when Megan, of Megan’s Beaded Designs, contacted me. At the time I was not yet familiar with her work. After browsing her website I was enchanted! FTC regulations require that bloggers disclose any compensation early in the post. Before I share more about Meagan’s Beaded Designs, I must disclose. I received one handmade imitation pearl beaded collar to review. I also received an affiliates code, if you visit Megan’s Beaded Designs and make a purchase (using the code) then Feeling Fit, Bit by Bit receives a modest commission. You score yourself a 10% discount on some lovely accessories, you support an independent artist and you also support Feeling Fit, Bit by Bit! Win, win, win!
My Experience Megan’s Beaded Designs:

This is me trying to look like a cameo lady as this piece reminds me of something from another era. |
Megan sent me a White Pearl Collar Necklace ($29, plus shipping) This necklace is shown above and also in the first picture collage.
The collar is handmade from glistening imitation pearls. These pearls have a lovely sheen to them. This necklace measures 14 to 17.5 inches around, and is adjustable for optimal length. It closes with a lobster clasp.
Megan suggests pairing it with: any a-line dress or high-collar top. Also, pair it with a lacy frock for a mind-blowing vintage look that brings a sense of nostalgia to your day.
I think it is beautiful against bare skin and would look nice with a strapless dress or spaghetti strapped top. I know, it isn’t the season! As Megan suggested, it is lovely with a high necked top. I think it would be very elegant against a black top. I love the vintage-inspired style.
Other Pieces From Megan’s Beaded Designs Collections:
One thing that impressed me about Megan’s Beaded Designs is the variety of moods and styles she creates. Some of her work is sweet and light, while others have a darker kind of beauty. And some are downright fun and kitschy. I encourage you to check out her site to see if there is currently anything that appeals to your personal style. The available styles change frequently, so be sure and visit often. I just wanted to highlight a few items from her collection.
1. From The Evil Eye Collection: Black and Green Evil Eye Ring ($9, plus shipping)
2. Turquoise Southwest Design Chain Bracelet ($97, free shipping for purchases over $90)
3. From the Rebecca Collection: Blue Chevron Bracelet ($26, plus shipping). This is on my Holiday wish list, just mentioning in case anyone who plans to give me a gift is reading this post (hint, hint).
4. From the Trendy Fashion Jewelry Collection: Silver Wing Earrings ($9, plus shipping)
This is barely the tip of the iceberg! Megan’s Beaded Designs has something for just about every style and nearly every budget. The prices and quantities vary depending on the level of detail and workmanship involved. (or is is “workwomanship”?)
About Megan:

This is the artist Megan — gotta love the smile! |
I asked Megan to provide a little biographical information about herself and about what inspires her designs. Her answer:
“I have been beading and making jewelry since I was about 5 years old, picking it up from my Grandfather who was really into Native American style beadwork and handcrafting at the time. I went on to attend college for Art, receiving my degree in graphic design. I do graphic design professionally for my “day job” – but still enjoy working with my hands in the physical space and creating original designs with beads and other components. I feel that I take my skills honed as an artist and graphic designer and translate them into jewelry, creating works of art that can be worn with everyday outfits.
As a major introvert, I have long since learned to use my choices in clothing and accessories as a means of expressing myself when words fail and I find approaching strangers difficult. I continue to design my jewelry and hair accessories as an outlet for my customers to celebrate themselves and their own unique personalities. I believe that our differences are what make us fascinating, and I strive to encourage people to show off what makes them special, because the whole world benefits when they do.”
